Mayborn Graduate Institute
Career Specialist Nancy Eanes and Administrative Assistant Brandee Harrawood, far left;
Mayborn Director Mitch Land far right; with the 2005-2006 Mayborn Scholars.

$200,000 Every Year

We make 10-20 awards totaling $200,000 a year to graduate students who intend to enter the news industry. Deadline for scholarship applications is March 30 and October 14 of each year for the following academic year.

Naturally, we also make awards to graduate students who plan to enter other journalism fields such as public relations, advertising, photojournalism and broadcast news. This new requirement adds diversity and fresh thinking from a variety of disciplines to the Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism.

The Mayborn program, which is the first nationally accredited professional master's degree in Texas, ensures that strong words will continue to come from North Texas Journalism.
