Mayborn Scholarship

We make 10-20 awards totaling $200,000 a year to graduate students who intend to enter the news industry. Deadline for scholarship applications is March 30 of each year for the following academic year.

Naturally, we also make awards to graduate students who plan to enter other journalism fields such as public relations, advertising, photojournalism and broadcast news. This new requirement adds diversity and fresh thinking from a variety of disciplines to the Mayborn Graduate School of Journalism.

The Mayborn program, which is the first nationally accredited professional master's degree in Texas, ensures that strong words will continue to come from North Texas Journalism.

Apply for the Mayborn Scholarship

To apply for the Mayborn Scholarship, you must have applied and been accepted to the Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism and UNT Toulouse School of Graduate Studies.
